KEY WEST, FL (May 28, 2010) With the British Petroleum oil spill threatening the Florida Keys, VP Racing Fuels will be supporting a response coordinated by Florida’s Mote Marine Laboratory according to Sandi Burns, wife of VP Racing Fuels President Steve Burns. The Co-Chairperson of Mote’s Florida Keys Advisory Board, Ms. Burns confirmed VP will donate $5,000 toward the effort. A nonprofit organization founded in 1955, Mote Marine Laboratory is dedicated to “advancing the science of the sea.” The laboratory is located in Sarasota, FL, with field stations and public exhibits in Sarasota County, Key West and other locations around the Florida coast.

This past Saturday, Mi-TRALE hosted Dick Ranney of the Michigan Motorized Recreation Council, at one of two meetings in the Upper Peninsula, dealing with the 4 Michigan State House of Representative Bills on Off Highway Vehicles. Some of which went to the Michigan House Committee of Tourism, Outdoor Recreation and Natural Resources. At the end of this e-mail, I have listed the members on that House Committee.

The Michigan State House of Representatives will be voting on a series of bills that will have numerous changes on Off Highway Vehicle trail fees, registration fees, Safety Training, Law Enforcement, and riding on County Roads. One of the people that has worked closely on the new Michigan OHV laws, Dick Ranney, will be traveling throughout the State this week.

As we get into the middle of February, everybody in the U.P. knows it’s the heart of winter. When a world all covered in snow and ice reminds us of why we did not go south for the winter. Because, without snow, their can be any of the winter activities we all love so much. Winter carnivals, dogs sled races, and tons of events centered around snowmobiling. Of these, there is one event that happens each year in the town of Naubinway. On the 3rd weekend of February, this small town in the Eastern U.P. annually hosts the biggest and best Antique and Vintage Snowmobile show in this State.

After Mi-TRALE members voted to change our Bylaws to add up to 2 new Board Members in January, it was at this past Monday Night's meeting that M-TRALE members elected Bob Brownell of Watersmeet to our Board of Directors. Bob joins Beckie Faulkner, Keith Meyer, and Greg Rogers as Trustees. Bob's term will run till the Mi-TRALE Annual Membership Meeting in October of 2011.

Minto, ND, (February 1, 2010) – Anyone who lives in the Fargo-Moorhead area is familiar with the sounds of 107.9 The Fox and on Sunday, February 14, The Fox will present the USCC Fargo-Moorhead 100 cross-country snowmobile race. The race, which will be hosted by the North Dakota Horse Park, will be run in and around the horse racing facility. It was at the January 4th, Mi-TRALE General Membership Meeting, that some of the Mi-TRALE Bylaws were changed. One of which allows for our organization to add up to two additional Board Members. Currently all our officers, and 3 Board Members serve on the Board. The bylaws were changed to increase the Board Members terms to two years. The current 3 Board Members, Beckie Faulkner, Keith Meyer, and Greg Rogers terms expire at this years General Membership meeting. The two new Board Members terms would expire at the General Membership meeting in 2011.
